New Ultrasound picture :)

We went to the hospital today for a little checkup on the baby's weight.
She's estimated to be about 3,1kg now, that's 6,8 pounds :)
We got to take a picture of her with us home.

Homemade flower decoration

I got inspired to make this after a visit to a friend.

These are hers.

You need pots, oasis (styrofoam works as well), paper flowers, some ribbon, natural fibers to cover the oasis, steel wire, pearls, glue and some paper butterflies.

Cut the ribbon into four equal lengths and glue it to the pots.

Cut the oasis and place it in the pots.

Cover up the oasis with some natural fibers.

The flowers are easily made in three steps;
1. Cut the wire into the desired flower length and thread a pearl on it.
2. Fix the pearl by twisting the wire.
3. Thread two or three paper flowers of different sizes on the wire and glue the base (under the flower).

Now all you have to do is arrange the flowers and decorate with butterflies :)

I made four of these, I'm going to use them as table decorations in my baby's christening.
Even though all the materials together cost 420NOK (about 85$), it turned out to be cheaper then having to buy fresh flowers the day. I also get more time to concentrate on the food the day before :)

Cute pink and horrible cupcake

Cupcakes have just recently started to become a hit here in Norway, and we are still very loyal to the regular muffin.
So I was very happy when I found this bright pink cupcake at one of the bakers in town;

Too bad it tasted fake and horrible...:/

Homemade easter decorations: Hen and Rooster

I just wanted to share this "how-to-do" easter decoration with you. Please ask me if there is something you don't understand :)
I'm not really that good at explaining...

This is all you need, some felt in different colors, some stuffing, glue, beads for eyes, legs and needle and thread.

First you cut out all the pieces you need

Then you glue the pattern to the one side of the rooster/hen

Start sowing it up

When you've sown the two sides, pin them together with the inside turned out

Then sow the two sides together, stop sowing when you have about 2-3 fingers length left

Turn the rooster/hen body inside out through the hole and start stuffing it

Sow the hole in the body closed

Glue the face and legs on

Homemade namecards

I'm still planning ahead for the baby's christening, and I've made some simple namecards for the table :)
Still haven't figured out the table setting though...
A real dilemma when every family member doesn't get along and you don't want any grumpy faces on the big day because someone isn't happy about their sitting partner >.<

I'm using the same picture decoration on these cards as on the invitations, the only difference is the base color, I didn't have enough paper...

This is how they ended up looking :)
Simple and cute^^

Handmade invitations

Even thought the baby isn't born yet, I've started the christening preparations. We've ordered the church, the revenue and we've decided the menu. And now I've even got the invitations :)

I decided on a light grey for the cards and cut them out and folded them.

Then I wrote the contents of the card, the actual invitation. I went with a light yellow and quite thin paper that could easily be put through the printer.

Then I found a cute picture on the web, retouched it with paint (removed the pattering behind it) and just pasted the retouched picture in words. I printed it out on the same color paper as the invitation.

I like to prepare everything before putting the cards together :) I cut out the cute Storks with a baby, made some bows out of ribbon and cut out cute little pink flowers with a stencil. And then just glued it all together:)
